You can look for other classes in the area at: http://www.michigandnr.com/hunting/recnsrch.asp
The IBEP certification is now required by 13 states and certain provinces in Canada. The state of Michigan is looking at requiring the IBEP certification for anyone apply for an archery deer license. This could happen within the next couple of years. Therefore the Combination class is highly recommended if you plan to both gun and bow hunt.

Aug 16, 2008 (Saturday) -- Bowhunter Education (I.B.E.P.) Class:
This class is NOT a hunter safety class and does NOT meet the standards for obtaining a Michigan hunting license. Instead, its purpose is to certify a bowhunter as having learned the minimum requirements of responsible bowhunting. This is done under the guidelines of the International Bowhunting Education Program (IBEP) as administered by the National Bowhunter Education Foundation. This certification IS REQUIRED to become a licensed bowhunter in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. It is also a requirement in 13 countries on 4 continents. The class begins at 9:00 AM and will completed that same day. A lunch will be provided.
There is no fee to attend any class; however, donations to help cover our costs would be accepted. The Caledonia Sportsman's Club is located one mile south of 100th Street, at 10721Coldwater Avenue, about 6 miles east of Caledonia and 3 miles west of Freeport.

Dear Al, Larry, Howard, Jeffrey, Ed, Dick, Gary and Ron,
Just a note to thank you all for the time and talent you all provided for the Bow Hunter Safety and Gun Hunter Safety courses this month. Matthew and I enjoyed both sessions and I know we all learned a great deal about history, safety, conservation and sportsmanship. It's amazing how valuable a refresher course is, even for an experienced sportsman like myself.
I was very impressed with the information and experiences you shared, your agenda/content and attention to detail. I know it's hard to pack so much information into a day or two and you all did a great job and keeping things interesting and moving along.
I hope all our young sportspersons in our country get the opportunity to receive the high degree of lesson and information that you shared. If they all do, we have a better chance at preserving our privilege of hunting and fishing for our future generations.
Thank you for your efforts, leadership, community service and for the Caledonia Sportsman Club hospitality.
Please share our gratitude to all involved.
We hope to see you soon at the club.
Sincerely,
Mark and Matt Metzler
Larry:
I would like to say thank you to you and your team of educators that gave of their personal time to educate a whole bunch of kids on hunting basics and safety! I did not grow up in a hunting family and am still learning myself. This was a great opportunity for my son to get a good start on hunting.
Thanks to all who volunteered!
